We are currently looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance Team, in Dublin, Ireland on a permanent basis.
Main Responsibilities
- Increase your understanding of the Investment Oversight function in the broader context of Octium.
- Support Investments, Product Solutions, and Customer Services & Administration in all cross-functional processes relating to product/investment offerings, queries, and periodic controls.
- Administrate the Octium Investments group email and be the first point of contact to internal stakeholders and AM and Custodian partners for all queries relating to the product/investment offerings and investment oversight.
- Draft Marketing Material in Italian under the guidance of Investments and Product Solutions teams.
- Run basic routine controls, automated calculations, and escalate anomalies to the Investment Oversight Controller.
- Be responsible for the administration of the Octium Corporate Action Process: coordinate all internal stakeholders involved and, where applicable, partners involved.
- Liaise with other teams to coordinate the involvement of the Investment team where it needs to be consulted.
- Support in preparation of documents for the Investment Oversight Committee and other internal committee and workshops.
- Support project delivery and drive process improvements and efficiencies.
- Fluency in English and Italian is considered a valuable asset.
- Self-motivated with an ability to work on own initiative.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively across all levels and collaborate in a team environment with individuals from diverse nationalities and cultures.
- Strong organisational skills, ability to work with multiple and tight deadlines, and attention to detail.
- Experience as an administrator and understanding of unit-linked insurance products would be a plus.
- Ownership of the financial month-end process.
- Production of the financial accounts for management review.
- Monthly reconciliations to ensure the accounting system is complete and accurate.
- Production of quarterly department performance reporting for the function heads.
- Ensuring processes and controls are fully documented, adhered to, and identifying any gaps in controls and providing recommendations.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
- Monitor for changes to relevant accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Research and provide guidance on technical accounting issues to management.
- To liaise with external auditors to ensure a clean audit review.
- Ad-hoc support of CFO/Finance Manager as required.
- Assist in ad-hoc and project requirements.
Your Profile
- Qualified accountant from a recognised accounting body with strong academic ability and track record.
- Knowledge of the insurance industry and Solvency II would be a strong advantage.
- Previous experience with Inforsun accounting systems is desirable though not essential.
- Strong accounting and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail essential.
- Strong technical knowledge of FRS102/103 would be advantageous.
- Self-motivated with an ability to work on own initiative and a willingness to learn.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively across all levels and collaborate in a team environment with individuals from diverse nationalities and cultures.
- Resourcefulness and the ability to challenge the status quo and problem-solve are highly valued attributes.
- Ability to work with multiple and tight deadlines.
- A willingness to understand and contribute to the broader operating environment.
- Must be proactive and diligent with positive work ethics.
- High standard of computer skills including an advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
