Octium Assurance AG
We are the Group’s Liechtenstein life insurance Provider. Originally established in Vaduz in 2001 as Credit Suisse Life & Pensions AG, with a Branch in Italy. In 2021, Credit Suisse Life & Pensions AG was acquired by the Octium Group and changed its name to Octium Assurance AG. The Italian Branch is now named Octium Assurance AG (Italian Branch).
Octium Assurance is a unit-linked life assurance company that offers innovative solutions designed to meet financial and succession planning needs of European and International clients.
The Principality of Liechtenstein, as member of the European Economic Area (EEA), has adopted all the major EU directives on insurance and introduced legislation on supervision of the insurance industry that is compatible with the EU. As a result, insurance companies like Octium Assurance AG have free access to the European Union insurance market. Furthermore, a number of stringent laws for combating money laundering were passed in Liechtenstein in 1996. A due diligence law requires banks and insurance companies to observe extreme care when accepting funds.
Octium Assurance AG is regulated by the FMA, Financial Market Authority Liechtenstein and, in line with the rest of the Group, makes solvency and security a priority.
Octium Assurance AG was authorised to carry out life insurance business under the right of establishment in Italy by IVASS regulation in 2004. The Italian Branch acts as withholding tax agent for its clients and is subject to the payment of the substitute tax on any taxable income deriving from the insurance contract.
Octium Assurance AG and its Italian Branch have assets under management of approx. €5.5 billion.
